From the Desk of Jeannie Mayer, Elementary Princip
Welcome to another wonderful year of teaching and learning at Menahga Public School!! My name is Jeannie Mayer and I am honored to be the Elementary Principal, here at Menahga Elementary. I have lived in the Menahga school district since 2003! I have had the pleasure of working in many roles at Menahga Elementary, a few including teacher, dean of students, and now as my fourth year as principal. I strive to ensure every student achieves their highest potential by creating a school culture and climate where student excellence is fostered and achieved.
Menahga Elementary has approximately 450 students in Preschool through grade 4. We are a four-section school, with class sizes of 18-24 students. Our consistent data-driven instructional programs support differentiated learning and best first teaching practices. Foundational skills are established early in grades Pre-K through 3rd as students build strong comprehension, word attack skills, and reading fluency. Students in grade 4, continue building and applying literary skills and using technology for collaborative research and presentations. Our goal is to significantly increase literacy for all students through several strategic instructional and behavioral shifts. Technology is used in all grade levels to enhance student learning and engagement.
Menahga elementary is focused on building relationships, growing as individuals, and developing lifelong learners and thinkers. Together as a team, I am confident that our students can accomplish anything and everything they put their minds to!
Honoring the past, envisioning the future and charting a course, Menahga Elementary is educating tomorrow’s future, one child at a time. Come join us, take a tour, and see the future at a glance!
